California Secretary of State urges early voting for November election
California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber has issued a call for voters to plan ahead and vote early for the upcoming November 3 election. During a media briefing, Weber emphasized that all active registered voters in California will automatically receive a mail-in ballot, which can be returned via the U.S. Postal Service, official drop boxes, or in person at designated voting centers.
Weber addressed concerns regarding election security, stating there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the state. She urged voters to rely on official channels to verify information and avoid misinformation. To protect the integrity of the process, the state is working with local law enforcement to prevent the intimidation or harassment of both voters and election workers.
Regarding registration, the regular deadline is October 19, but Weber noted that eligible residents can still use California’s conditional voter registration process to register and vote on Election Day at designated locations. She also addressed concerns about immigration enforcement at polling sites, suggesting that those who feel uncomfortable voting in person may utilize official ballot drop boxes instead.
