California State University Stanislaus 9/11 memorial vandalized
A 9/11 memorial display at California State University Stanislaus was vandalized on the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks. The memorial, organized by the Young America’s Foundation (YAF), featured 2,977 American flags to represent the lives lost in the September 11, 2001, attacks.
Vandals defaced the flags with blue ink, scrawling messages such as “Free Palestine,” “Blowback,” and the number “161,” which is sometimes used as shorthand for “Anti-Fascist Action.”
University officials confirmed that the Stanislaus State University Police Department received a report regarding the incident and has launched an investigation. YAF President Scott Walker condemned the act as “disgraceful,” stating that students should not face intimidation or vandalism while attempting to honor the victims.
