Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Patch 1.06 Released for PS5 and PS4

Activision’s remastered version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 received a new update, version 1.06, for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The patch, developed by Iron Galaxy Studios, implements several community‑requested changes, including improved mid‑match lobby back‑filling, reduced input lag on displays with 120 Hz or higher refresh rates, and a fix for the smoke‑grenade visual effects.

In Zombie‑mode multiplayer, the update now gives priority to PS5 consoles as match hosts, eliminating the previous fallback to PS4 hardware that caused lower frame rates and poorer connectivity. A new toggle also lets players hide or show custom emblems in the multiplayer menu. While many players welcomed these technical improvements, criticism remains over the continued absence of a 120‑FPS mode and unresolved issues with hacked, modded lobbies that can falsely elevate prestige ranks and lock users out of their accounts. Iron Galaxy Studios said the latter problem is known and under investigation.
