Callina Liang details intense training for Street Fighter role
Actress Callina Liang has detailed the rigorous physical preparation required to portray Chun-Li in the upcoming Street Fighter film. To match the character's muscular physique, Liang underwent an intense training regimen involving two hours of daily martial arts practice, specifically Taekwondo, Muay Thai, and Wushu.
Liang also followed a strict high-protein diet to facilitate muscle growth, which included eating 12 eggs per day and consuming meals every two hours. She reported that this process resulted in her thighs growing approximately 6.5 centimeters each. To ensure combat accuracy, Liang studied the character's movements by playing various versions of the Street Fighter games on a PlayStation 5 and recording fight sequences in slow motion.
The film, directed by Kitao Sakurai, features an ensemble cast including Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, and David Dastmalchian. It is scheduled for release on October 15.
