Callington women secure county softball championship

The Callington women’s team has secured the county softball championship following an unbeaten season in the East league. After narrowly missing the title last year due to run-rate, the squad successfully captured the championship on Finals Day at Boconnoc by defeating Wadebridge and Redruth.

The club’s women’s section has expanded to include two teams, with players ranging in age from 14 to over 50. Captain Kate Bourn credited the team’s progress to improvements in bowling and fielding, while coach Blaze Eigennman has been noted for his role in skill development. The team is also currently competing for the county cup title.
