Calp and Corregidora Restore Rain‑Damaged Roads and Drainage
The town council of Calp, Spain, completed a €190,000 reconstruction of the access road to the Balcón de Bernia after the wall collapsed during heavy rains in 2022. Works carried out by Vives Dalmau S.A. included demolition of the damaged pavement, soil compaction, new asphalt surfacing, rebuilt sidewalks, upgraded water supply, a new drainage inlet and the rerouting of low‑voltage lines. Mayor Ana Sala said the project restores a long‑awaited corridor and improves safety for local residents.
In Corregidora, Mexico, mayor Chepe Guerrero inspected the Paseos del Bosque and Santa Fe neighborhoods following a storm with hail and strong winds that blocked storm‑drains with leaves and debris. He reported that the municipal sewer pits and drainage grates were functioning, preventing floodwater from entering homes, and ordered crews to clear the obstructions while urging citizens to report any further damage as rain is expected to continue.
