Caltagirone hosts third edition of “I Fontanoni in Festa!” cultural festival

On Saturday, August 1, the Sicilian town of Caltagirone launched the third edition of the “I Fontanoni in Festa!” festival in the Acquanuova neighbourhood. Organized by Archeoclub d’Italia APS “Show People” with support from the municipal authorities, the free‑entry event combined religious traditions, folklore and music to celebrate the patron saint San Giovanni. The program began at 15:45 with a talk titled “2 Curtigghi!”, followed at 18:00 by a performance from local storyteller Alfio Patti, a live set by the band SOLariS at 20:00, a fireworks display at 21:00 and a DJ set by Greta Juno at 22:00. Community leaders highlighted the festival as a way to preserve local memory, promote cultural identity and counter cultural homogenisation.
