Caltanissetta Police Arrest Couple for Large-Scale Theft at Lidl Supermarket

Carabinieri from the Radiomobile unit of the Caltanissetta Company intercepted a man and a woman who had filled several bags with food, cosmetics and personal‑care products from the Lidl supermarket on Via Due Fontane during the busy lunch hour. The pair tried to leave the store without triggering the anti‑theft systems and headed for the parking area, where the Carabinieri observed them moving among parked cars and stopped them for a check. A search of the suspects recovered all the stolen merchandise, and the arrests were confirmed by the Preliminary Investigations Judge, who imposed a court‑ordered obligation to appear for the male suspect. The investigation remains in the preliminary phase, with the two individuals presumed innocent pending a final verdict.
