Caltrans announces major freeway closures in Southern California
Caltrans has scheduled significant lane and ramp closures on two major Southern California freeways for upcoming weekend construction projects.
On Interstate 405, southbound lanes through the Sepulveda Pass will be reduced to three lanes between Ventura Boulevard and Mulholland Drive from Friday night, Oct. 23, through Monday morning, Oct. 26. The project includes closures of the southbound on-ramp from Ventura Boulevard and several off-ramps. This work is part of a $143.7 million pavement rehabilitation project intended to improve safety and mobility between Van Nuys and Westwood.
On the Interstate 605 in Whittier, northbound lanes will face various reductions from Friday night through Monday morning as part of the Super 605 freeway corridor projects. Specific impacts include the closure of the Peck Road on-ramp and connectors to the State Route 60. These activities involve demolition and rehabilitation work stretching from Long Beach to the San Gabriel Valley.
