Calvary Baptist Academy student arrested after knife found on campus
A 14-year-old student was arrested at Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport after a knife was discovered on school property. The incident occurred on August 10 around 2:05 p.m. when a student reported seeing a classmate briefly open a knife during class.
According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, the School Resource Officer and a school administrator removed the teenager from the classroom. Upon being confronted in the office, the student produced the knife from his backpack and surrendered it to officials. The teenager was arrested for carrying a dangerous weapon on school property and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
Calvary Superintendent Chad McDowell notified parents of the incident via email. School officials reminded students that all weapons are prohibited and encouraged them to report any suspicious activity to teachers or administrators immediately.
