Calvin Harris sets Guinness World Record with 1.6 million-person DJ set in Brazil

Scottish DJ Calvin Harris has earned a Guinness World Record for attracting the largest crowd ever recorded for a single-artist DJ set. An estimated 1.6 million people attended his free performance in São Paulo, Brazil, on February 8, 2026.

The event took place during the Bloco Skol pre-carnival street party on Rua da Consolação. Performing from a carnival float, Harris played hits such as ‘We Found Love’, ‘One Kiss’, and ‘This Is What You Came For’. The massive turnout required the closure of Rua da Consolação and resulted in some attendees fainting due to the heat.

Guinness World Records noted that the attendance level matches the estimated 1.6 million people who attended Madonna’s free concert on Copacabana Beach in May 2024. This is not Harris’ first record; in 2014, he was recognized for producing nine UK top 10 singles from a single album, ‘18 Months’.
