Calvin Ramsay joins St Mirren on loan from Liverpool
Scottish right-back Calvin Ramsay has joined St Mirren on a season-long loan from Liverpool. The 23-year-old, who previously played for Aberdeen, aims to use the move to regain consistent playing time after several limited loan spells at clubs including Kilmarnock, Preston North End, Bolton, and Wigan.
Ramsay stated that he intends to “prove a point” and remind observers of his talent after being away from senior football for a period. He expressed interest in playing 30 to 40 games this season and noted that the current tactical approach at St Mirren should suit his style of play.
Originally signed by Liverpool in 2022 for a significant fee, Ramsay’s progress at Anfield was hampered by a series of serious injuries, including spinal issues that required surgery. His contract with Liverpool is currently set to expire in the summer of 2027.
