Calvin Stengs set to rejoin AZ Alkmaar after leaving Feyenoord
Dutch midfielder Calvin Stengs terminated his contract with Feyenoord by mutual agreement, becoming a free agent just days after the deal originally ran until 2027. He has now reached a personal agreement with his former club AZ Alkmaar and has completed secret medical examinations, clearing the way for a swift signing. The transfer is expected to involve no fee, with Stengs valued at roughly €4.5 million.
Stengs, who began his professional career at AZ in 2017, moved to OGC Nice for a €17 million fee, then returned to the Netherlands with Feyenoord, where injury problems limited his impact. He also spent a loan spell at Italian side Pisa, playing only four matches. AZ view the return as a chance to restore his form and add creativity to their midfield ahead of the new season.
