Calw builds large slides to connect Stadtgarten with city center

The city of Calw in Baden-Württemberg has constructed two large slides in the Stadtgarten to connect the park with the city center. The project features a 43-meter-long slide and a 17-meter-long slide. Users can reach speeds of up to 35 kilometers per hour, depending on weather conditions and clothing materials.

The slides are part of a larger 1.5 million euro redesign of the 7-hectare Stadtgarten park, which was damaged by a storm in 2018. The new installation is intended to serve families, park visitors, students, and commuters looking to avoid cars or buses. The slides are currently awaiting final safety approval from the TÜV before they can be opened to the public.
