CAM granted management rights for Taipa Ferry Terminal aviation zones
The Macau International Airport Company (CAM) has been granted the authority to manage and operate the aviation-designated zones at the Taipa Ferry Terminal. This decision was formalized through an executive order signed by Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai and published in the government gazette.
The concession was awarded via direct award, bypassing a public tender. The order justifies this move by citing CAM’s “special technical qualification in the field of aerodrome management” and noting that the arrangement brings significant benefits to the Macau Special Administrative Region.
The move aims to expand operational capacity at the terminal, which is adjacent to the Macau International Airport and the Macau Light Rail. The expansion is intended to alleviate pressure on existing airport operations, following passenger traffic figures that have surpassed pre-pandemic levels and exceeded previous growth projections.
