Cam Innes to be inducted into University of Ottawa Gee‑Gees Hall of Fame
Cam Innes, an 80‑year‑old former player and coach from Sicamous, British Columbia, will be inducted into the University of Ottawa Gee‑Gees Hall of Fame on 3 October 2026. The ceremony follows his recent induction into the Queen’s University Hall of Fame on 26 September 2025, where he was honoured for his playing career with the Gaels from 1968 to 1970.
Innes coached the Ottawa Gee‑Gees from 1978 to 1981, posting a 19‑13 record, winning the Atlantic Bowl in 1980 and receiving the National Coach of the Year award. He was the first full‑time head coach in the program’s history and later served as president of the Canadian University Football Coaches Association. In a media release he said, “the challenge was obvious – to rebuild the program into national prominence.”
