Cam Ranh Airport: Two prosecuted for smuggling 180,000 lobster larvae

Authorities in Khanh Hoa province have prosecuted two individuals for the illegal cross-border transport of over 180,000 live lobster larvae. The seizure occurred at Cam Ranh International Airport following the arrival of Scoot flight TR548 from Singapore.

The suspects, identified as Stevanus Donny Kurnain, an Indonesian national, and Ngo Duy Linh, a resident of Khanh Hoa, were found with four suitcases containing 112 plastic bags of lobster larvae. The total value of the shipment is estimated at more than 7 billion VND.

Investigations revealed that the pair coordinated via WhatsApp with an unidentified individual to transport the larvae for a fee of 3 million Indonesian Rupiah per trip. The shipment lacked all necessary customs declarations, quarantine certificates, and documentation proving its origin.
