Camaçari and Jaguarari in Bahia host award‑winning São João festival and centenary celebrations

Camaçari was honored with two state‑wide awards for its São João 2026 festivities, receiving the Best Organization and Best Structure trophies. Officials highlighted the event’s large scale – over 300,000 attendees, a 40,000 m² venue, multiple stages, and services for people with disabilities – as a sign of the municipality’s growing cultural prominence.

In Jaguarari, the municipality marked its 100‑year anniversary with a day‑long program that included a Thanksgiving Mass, a civic flag‑raising ceremony, a cultural and food fair, and the final round of the local football championship. The celebrations drew authorities, school groups, and performers, culminating in concerts that featured the region’s leading forró bands.
