Camaldoli hosts MEIC Theological Week on anthropological transition

The MEIC Theological Week has commenced at the Camaldoli Monastery, scheduled to run from August 17 to 21, 2026. This year’s theme is ‘At the frontiers of the human: natural and artificial.’

Father Maurizio Faggioni, the national ecclesiastical assistant of MEIC, introduced the event as part of a broader cultural and theological training program for the 2025–2028 triennium focused on anthropological transition. Faggioni noted that Western views of humanity and culture are undergoing profound changes. The program aims to examine significant aspects of this transition to foster dialogue with contemporary culture.

Reflecting on previous studies, Faggioni mentioned that the prior year focused on gender anthropology in comparison with Christian anthropology, seeking to understand how these concepts influence legislative and social aspects of Western and non-Western cultures.
