Regional initiatives promote urban mobility and social inclusion

Various regional initiatives are focusing on urban mobility, accessibility, and social inclusion. In Camama, Angola, the Municipal Administration organized free taxi and tuk-tuk services to celebrate National Taxi Driver Day.

In Brazil, several programs aim to support vulnerable populations. The TRE-AM ‘Seu Voto Importa’ project facilitates transportation for voters with reduced mobility in Amazonas. In Atibaia, authorities are reinforcing guidelines for reserved parking and free transport for the elderly and people with disabilities. In Rio de Janeiro, Detran RJ is regulating the issuance of identification for ‘atypical mothers’ to facilitate priority service for caregivers of people with disabilities. Additionally, Mesquita is offering free sports and multidisciplinary support for the elderly and disabled, while Cuiabá is holding a lottery for autistic individuals to attend a football match.

Safety measures are also being highlighted, such as Botucatu’s traffic awareness campaigns near schools and the PRF’s warnings regarding driving in rain and fog following a multi-vehicle collision on the BR-369. In Fortaleza, the Fetrans ‘Ônibus Encantado’ campaign is collecting donations for children in social vulnerability.
