Camargo authorities seize suspected cryptocurrency mining farm

Authorities in Camargo, Tamaulipas, seized specialized computer equipment suspected of being used for a cryptocurrency mining farm during a search of a property in the El Sauz neighborhood.

The Tamaulipas State Attorney General's Office reported that investigators found nine specialized computers, including brands such as BITMAIN and ANTMINER, which are commonly used for mining activities. The seizure also included a laptop, high-power power supplies, networking equipment, Ethernet cabling, and ventilation systems.

In addition to investigating the mining operation, the state prosecutor's office has opened an inquiry into the alleged theft of electricity. The seized items have been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for further forensic analysis to determine the origin of the equipment and its potential connection to other crimes. No arrests have been reported in connection with this operation.
