Camargue cycling routes explore the Rhône Delta

The Rhône Delta in southern France offers diverse cycling routes through the Camargue region, characterized by salt marshes, swamps, white horses, and traditional bullfighting. A key route is the ViaRhôna, a long-distance cycle path that follows the Rhône river, partly utilizing former railway lines.

At Beaucaire, the path splits, offering travelers two main options. One route follows the main river branch for 71 kilometers toward the port of Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône. Alternatively, cyclists can head west along the Petit Rhône for 124 kilometers toward the port city of Sète.

Local landmarks include the Saint-Romain cave monastery, where monks carved living quarters and burial chambers into limestone a thousand years ago, and the scenic views of Provence, which can extend as far as Mont Ventoux.
