Camarones inaugurates first rural community care center in Arica y Parinacota
The Municipality of Camarones has inaugurated the Camarones Community Care and Protection Center, the first facility of its kind in the rural areas of the Arica y Parinacota region. The project, which was attended by Social Development and Family Minister María Jesús Wulf, covers 199.7 square meters on municipal land.
The center features universal accessibility, three multipurpose halls for care, recreation, and local economy workshops, an administrative office, a kitchen, and inclusive bathrooms and parking. The project was funded with an investment of 10,350 UF from the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism through the Rural Habitability Program.
This initiative is part of the National Support and Care System. Construction began in June 2025 and reached 100% completion in June of this year, involving coordination between the municipality, SERVIU, and various regional government agencies.
