Cambé arson victim dies after hospitalization

Claudineia Ramos dos Santos, 38, has died following a criminal arson attack at a residence in Cambé, northern Paraná. She had been hospitalized in serious condition since the incident occurred on June 19, 2026, in the Jardim Santa Isabel neighborhood.

The fire resulted in three severe injuries, including Ramos dos Santos, her 16-year-old daughter, and a 53-year-old man. Forensic investigations by the Scientific Police confirmed the fire was intentional, noting multiple ignition points and the use of gasoline as an accelerant. This evidence contradicted the initial claim by the suspect that the fire was an accident caused by smoking.

Investigators believe the motive was related to a dispute over a debt. The suspect, Antônio Carlos Fermino da Silva, was arrested in flagrante and later released on provisional liberty by the Court of Justice of Paraná. His release included conditions such as the use of an electronic ankle monitor, nighttime house arrest, and restrictions on leaving the judicial district.
