Cambados hosts 79th Albariño Wine Festival with expanded health services

The 79th edition of the Festa do Albariño began on July 29 in Cambados, Spain, with the inauguration of 42 stalls representing 44 wineries along the Paseo da Calzada. The ceremony was attended by Mayor Samuel Lago, president of the D.O. Rías Baixas Isidoro Serantes, deputy Luis López, and rural councilor María José Gómez, among other officials. Organisers highlighted activities such as the Tunnel of Wine, tasting contests and other cultural events. Isidoro Serantes said the festival is “the most important wine festival of the D.O. Rías Baixas, attracting many young people.”

Regional health authorities reinforced safety and medical services for the five‑day event. Health councilor Antonio Gómez Caamaño inspected the preparations, confirming a third medical team of a doctor and a nurse will be on duty, especially during the weekend. Two additional ambulances and a field hospital have been deployed, building on last year's 665 medical attendances. Authorities reported the festival is proceeding without incidents.
