Cambodia and GGGI endorse 2026‑2028 green investment framework

Cambodia’s Ministry of Environment and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) signed the strategic direction of the GGGI Cambodia Country Planning Framework for 2026‑2028 during a ceremony on 28 July. Minister of Environment Eang Sophalleth and GGGI Executive Director Sang‑Hyup Kim signed the foreword, reaffirming a partnership that began in 2012 as Cambodia prepares to graduate from Least‑Developed Country status.

The framework aims to strengthen climate action and mobilise green investment by developing investment‑ready projects and enhancing financial systems. Target mechanisms include sustainable bonds, blended finance and carbon finance under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Cooperation will focus on green, resilient and circular cities and infrastructure, sustainable agriculture, resilient landscapes and an inclusive clean‑energy transition. GGGI will continue to support Cambodia through programmes such as the Green Climate Fund, the Korea Development Bank‑funded Climate Technopreneurship Project and the Climate Technology Acceleration Fund.
