Cambodia court sentences 15 to prison for fatal assault at Prince Group compound

A court in Kandal Province, Cambodia, has sentenced 15 individuals to 13 years in prison following a fatal violent incident at the Prince Group’s ‘Golden Fortune’ compound. The incident occurred on December 29, 2025, when four Chinese nationals attempted to escape the facility.

Surveillance footage revealed that a Chinese supervisor, identified as Le Heneng, and 14 Cambodian security guards intercepted the group. The defendants used sticks and pipes to beat the victims on their heads, limbs, and bodies to prevent their escape. The assault resulted in the death of one Chinese national and left three others seriously injured.

The Kandal Province Court found the defendants guilty of aggravated intentional violence committed by multiple people and aggravated intentional violence causing death. All 15 defendants received 13-year prison sentences.
