Cambodia implements automated wastewater monitoring for 64 companies
Cambodia has implemented automated wastewater monitoring infrastructure across 64 companies to track liquid-waste discharge. As of September 8, 2026, these systems reported a daily treated liquid-waste volume of 71,395 cubic metres.
The monitoring program, overseen by the Ministry of Environment, utilizes data-management devices to record key effluent parameters, including pH, chemical oxygen demand (COD), and total suspended solids (TSS).
The Ministry uses a colour-coded system to communicate compliance status: 62 companies are currently classified as green (compliant), one is yellow (under monitoring), and nine are white (under repair). No companies were listed as red (subject to inspection) in the latest update.
