Cambodia pushes tourism beyond Angkor with arts partnership and GEO magazine feature
The August 2026 issue of GEO devotes its cover and a near‑30‑page feature to Cambodia, showcasing destinations such as the remote northeast province of Ratanakiri, the pepper‑rich town of Kampot, and a practical guide to Angkor. The spread highlights ethnic minorities, conservation efforts and the country’s culinary and colonial heritage.
Separately, the Cambodia Tourism Board and Phare Ponleu Selpak announced a strategic partnership for the 13th Tini Tinou International Circus Festival, scheduled for November 2026 in Siem Reap and Battambang. Backed by a matching grant, the collaboration aims to rebrand Cambodia as a contemporary arts destination and launch an “Angkor to Arts Corridor” that moves tourism beyond temple sites, attracting higher‑value cultural visitors from priority markets.
