Cambodia to suspend all online casino gambling from October

Cambodia will suspend all online gambling activities at casinos nationwide starting in October 2026. The decision, directed by Prime Minister Hun Manet, aims to strengthen management of online betting and prevent illegal activities linked to online fraud networks.

Interior Minister Sar Sokha stated that investigations revealed several casinos were livestreaming gambling activities, creating financial flows that are difficult to monitor and manage. During the suspension, authorities will focus on developing a transparent management system, including improving legal frameworks, digital infrastructure, and professional human resources.

Online gambling operations will only be considered for reinstatement once the necessary regulatory systems and oversight measures are in place. Minister Sokha warned that any casinos violating this policy from October onwards could face license revocation and other legal actions.
