Cambodian educator uses AI to teach dengue prevention

An educator in Siem Reap, Cambodia, has launched an AI-driven educational initiative to teach young children how to prevent dengue fever. The project was inspired by a personal experience three years ago when the educator's two children were simultaneously hospitalized due to the virus.

To overcome technical limitations in graphic design and animation, the educator utilized generative artificial intelligence to create 'Elowan’s Adventures in Cambodia,' an immersive learning universe. This includes a 3D animated clip titled 'Dengue Alert! Buzz Off Mosquitoes!' which uses music and local imagery to teach students about mosquito life cycles and hygiene practices.

The initiative also includes a 16-page 'Dengue Prevention' educational kit. This curriculum has been tested on more than 200 students and is distributed free of charge to local families and schools to address the high risks associated with tropical living conditions and outdoor daily routines.
