Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary visits Vietnam to deepen bilateral ties
Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary concluded a three‑day official visit to Vietnam from 27 to 29 July. The trip, part of ongoing efforts to strengthen traditional friendship, focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and targeting a $20 billion trade volume in the coming years.
Both sides highlighted progress in commerce and pledged to deepen collaboration across a wide range of sectors, including economic connectivity, transport infrastructure, technology‑driven development, security, defence, trans‑national crime prevention, tourism, agriculture, education, health and support for small‑ and medium‑sized enterprises. The visit built on a June meeting between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and his Vietnamese counterpart, reaffirming commitments to broader economic integration and regional stability.
The joint communiqué noted that the enhanced political confidence and concrete initiatives arising from the visit aim to deliver tangible benefits for the peoples of Cambodia and Vietnam and contribute to peace and prosperity throughout the region.
