Cambodia's Air Cambodia signs deal for 20 Chinese COMAC C909 jets

On July 17, Air Cambodia, the national carrier of Cambodia, and China's Commercial Aircraft Corporation (COMAC) signed a purchase agreement in Shanghai for 20 C909 regional jets. The deal makes Air Cambodia the first foreign flag carrier to acquire the aircraft in bulk, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026.

The agreement is accompanied by a memorandum of cooperation covering aviation infrastructure, operation support, talent development and maintenance training. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet praised the partnership and pledged full government support for the fleet’s operation, highlighting the move as a step toward modernising Cambodia’s civil aviation sector and enhancing its regional competitiveness.
