Cambodia's Queen Mother honored with new biographical book

The Documentation Center of Cambodia (DC-Cam) has released a bilingual Khmer-English book titled ‘Witness to History: The Storied Life of Cambodia’s Queen Mother’. Published by the Queen Mother Library, the work was prepared to commemorate the 90th birthday of Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk.

The book documents her life and royal service, situating her personal journey within the broader context of modern Cambodian history, including the nation's independence, various wars, the Khmer Rouge era, and subsequent reconstruction. It utilizes royal decrees and official records to trace the evolution of her various royal titles.

In a letter dated August 8, King Norodom Sihamoni expressed his gratitude to Youk Chhang, Executive Director of the Queen Mother Library, for the publication. The King noted that the work helps preserve an important chapter of the nation's history and the enduring legacy of Her Majesty.
