Camborne Youth Brass Band seeks funds after devastating break-in
The Camborne Youth Brass Band is seeking financial assistance following a devastating break-in and act of vandalism at its rehearsal space in Tuckingmill, Cornwall. Police reported that entry was forced, resulting in significant structural damage and the destruction of musical equipment, memorabilia, and trophies.
Musical director Alan Pope described the scene as having “devastation everywhere,” noting that vandals used fire extinguishers to soak equipment and music scores. Five 12-year-old children were detained at the scene during the incident.
The band has launched a crowdfunding campaign to cover repair costs and to enhance security at the bandroom to prevent future occurrences. The fundraiser has already raised nearly £6,000 toward a £10,000 goal.
