Cambridge Audio and Klipsch have introduced new active speaker systems designed to function as complete stereo setups without the need for external amplifiers.

Cambridge Audio’s L/R M provides a total of 300 W of power (2 x 150 W). The system features two compact cabinets, each equipped with two 4-inch woofers, two 4.75-inch side passive radiators, and a custom 28 mm tweeter. It includes StreamMagic Gen 4, HDMI eARC, Phono MM input, USB-C, USB-A, optical input, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet. The two units are connected via an included 5-meter USB-C cable.

Klipsch has released the RP-500PM, marking the first time the company has brought amplified speaker technology to its Reference Premiere line. Priced at $799, these speakers feature a two-way stand design with a Tractrix horn tweeter made from BMC material and a 5.25-inch Cerametallic woofer. The system includes HDMI ARC, phono input, Bluetooth, a subwoofer output, and USB-C, allowing direct connection to TVs, computers, turntables, and smartphones.
