Cambridge Highway 95 reconstruction enters next phase

The first phase of a two-year reconstruction project on Highway 95 in Cambridge, Minnesota, is concluding for the season. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) announced that the highway will reopen to traffic on October 8.

During the initial six months, crews reconstructed the section from Fern Street to just west of Main Street, which included installing new sidewalks, adjacent entrances, and underground utilities and storm sewers. Due to a delay in receiving new signal equipment, the intersection of Fern Street and Dellwood Street will operate with all-way stops until new signals are installed in mid-December.

Construction is scheduled to resume in the spring to rebuild and expand the final segment of Highway 95, stretching from west of Main Street to east of Fillmore Street. The entire project is expected to reach completion next fall.
