Cambridge International cancels AS Level Mathematics exam after leak

Cambridge International Education (CIE) confirmed that the AS Level Mathematics paper (9709/12) was leaked and consequently cancelled the exam. All affected candidates will sit a replacement paper on 9 June 2026, with no additional fees for students or schools, and the original results release date of 11 August 2026 will remain unchanged.

CIE will issue further guidance to schools by 15 May and has launched an investigation with law‑enforcement agencies to identify those responsible for the breach. The board warned that individuals sharing or selling leaked exam material could face permanent bans from future Cambridge examinations and said action is being taken against related social‑media accounts.
