Cambridgeshire bus network plans approved by Combined Authority

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority Board has approved new plans for the region's supported bus network. The decision, made on September 23, follows a six-week period of public engagement aimed at improving reliability, frequency, and access to essential destinations like healthcare and rail stations.

The revised plans include new connections and adjustments to existing services. Specifically, route 65 between St Neots, Godmanchester, the Hemingfords, and St Ives has been revised, while route 62 will maintain its service to the Werrington loop. The authority also noted the potential use of Tiger on Demand services where appropriate.

The authority will now begin the tendering process. The first phase of changes is expected to be implemented in February 2027, with additional updates scheduled for August 2027. These changes are part of a broader strategy to improve the regional bus network and support ambitions for bus franchising.
