Cambrils hosts inaugural international pétanque tournament

The first edition of the Cambrils Pétanque Passion international competition is taking place at Parc del Pescador in Cambrils, Spain, from October 18 to 24. The event has gathered 154 players from five different origins, including France, Switzerland, Morocco, Catalonia, and the rest of Spain. French participants represent a significant portion of the field, hailing from 13 departments and seven different regions.

Organized by Team Challenge Pétanque Passion in collaboration with the Cambrils City Council, the Municipal Tourism Board, and local hotels Sol Port Cambrils and Port Eugeni, the tournament features 415 matches across male, female, and mixed teams.

Patricia de Miguel, the Councilor for Tourism and Economic Promotion, stated that the competition helps the municipality grow as a quality tourist destination by helping to deseasonalize the tourism season and generating hotel occupancy during October.
