Cambrils motorboat refloated after sinking in storm
Emergency services in Spain successfully refloated a motorboat that had sunk off the coast of Cambrils. The vessel, which carried two adults and one minor, sank near Cala Fons during severe weather involving heavy rain, wind, and hail.
Salvamento Marítimo deployed the Salvamar Fomalhaut and the Helimer helicopter to assist in the operation. The three crew members were rescued by a jet ski from the beach surveillance service after being instructed to wear life jackets. Following the rescue, the boat was partially submerged and anchored by its bow. With assistance from the Mossos d'Esquadra, the vessel was refloated and escorted to port on Monday afternoon, though the process was briefly delayed by ongoing storms.
In a separate incident during the same period, a rescue vessel also recovered a severely damaged kayak drifting near Salou.
