Cambuí: Missing father and son found dead in vehicle crash

A father and son who had been missing for three days were found dead inside a vehicle in a ravine along the BR-381 highway in Cambuí, Minas Gerais. The victims were identified as 58-year-old Hélio da Silva Eduardo and 29-year-old Michael Jefferson Gomes Ribeiro.

The two men had departed from Ribeirão das Neves on Tuesday, September 15, traveling toward Guarulhos, São Paulo, for work-related purposes. They were last seen during the early hours of Wednesday, September 16, before failing to respond to family communications.

The vehicle, a white Volkswagen Saveiro, was discovered on Friday morning by teams from the Motiva concessionaire. According to the Military Firefighters Corps (CBMMG), the car appears to have left the roadway, crossed a fence, and fallen into a ravine following a curve. Family members expressed distress that they were the ones to discover the bodies and noted that no security agencies had been alerted to the accident.
