American defender Cameron Carter-Vickers made his first appearance for Scottish Premiership champions Celtic in a 1‑1 preseason friendly against Shelbourne, playing 45 minutes after missing eight months with a ruptured Achilles tendon. The injury kept him out for the latter part of the title‑winning season, during which Celtic also secured the Scottish Cup. Carter‑Vickers said he was "good to get back playing football" and praised manager Martin O’Neill’s man‑management.
