Cameron Maclean elected as youngest Lord Mayor of Parramatta
Cameron Maclean, 28, has been elected as the youngest Lord Mayor of the City of Parramatta in western Sydney. His election followed a narrow one-vote margin after Liberal councillor Tanya Raffoul defected and voted against the Liberal incumbent.
Maclean’s entry into local politics began in 2021 when he was placed second on a ticket by former Labor Lord Mayor Donna Davis. He was subsequently elected to the council and re-elected by voters in the Epping ward in 2024. He assumes leadership of the council during a period of significant growth for the region and following a tumultuous year for the local government.
