Cameron Menzies faces potential fine after gesture at European Championship

Scottish darts player Cameron Menzies may face disciplinary action from the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) following an incident at the European Championship in Dortmund. During his 10-4 defeat to Gerwyn Price, the 37-year-old directed a middle finger toward an ITV television camera during a commercial break.

The gesture prompted an apology from British commentators. Under DRA Article 3.14, players are prohibited from using offensive language or making offensive gestures. While an official investigation has not yet been announced, a fine is considered a likely sanction by observers.

This incident follows a pattern of controversial moments for Menzies. At the recent World Darts Championship, he injured his hand after punching a table in frustration following a loss to Charlie Manby, an injury that required surgery. Menzies has expressed a desire to be judged on his professional performance rather than his off-board conduct.
