Cameroon Entrepreneur Elvis Berlin Mouafo Launches Elvi Energy to Enter Downstream Oil Market

Cameroonian businessman Elvis Berlin Mouafo, known for his role in the Tecno mobile‑phone brand, has incorporated Elvi Energy SA in Yaoundé. The new public limited company has an initial share capital of CFA 100 million and a 99‑year board term.

Elvi Energy’s articles of association give it a broad mandate to import, export and distribute petroleum products, but the firm must first obtain the licences and regulatory approvals required for Cameroon’s downstream oil sector. The company’s five shareholders – including Mouafo, William Senghor Ndiatie, Moubel Gouanat Pedrel, Gilbertine Maffo Ngouanat and Anne‑Simon Mbang Bembala – also sit on the board, with Zakari Yaou Abdoul appointed chief executive officer. No detailed investment plan, supply strategy or operational timetable has been disclosed.

The venture represents a diversification from telecommunications into the petroleum supply chain, a move that could expand Mouafo’s business footprint if the necessary approvals are secured.
