Guinea defeats Kenya 1-0 in AFCON 2027 qualifier

Guinea's national football team, the Syli National, secured a 1-0 victory against Kenya in an Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2027 qualifier held at the Stade du 28 Septembre in Conakry. The decisive goal was scored by Serhou Guirassy in the 32nd minute.

The match marked a significant homecoming for the Syli National, as it was their first official home game in several years following renovations to the Conakry stadium. The victory allows Guinea to climb to second place in Group D with three points, trailing leaders South Africa, who hold six points.

Kenya, having already qualified for the tournament as co-hosts, remains at one point in the group. Guinea's next scheduled matches in the qualifying campaign are against Eritrea in November.
