Cameroon launches ‘Transform-Elles’ model for women's empowerment

The Cameroonian Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family has partnered with the Association of African Women for Integrity for Research and Development (Afaird) to implement the ‘Transform-Elles’ model. The collaboration was formalized on August 18, 2026, in Yaoundé through a framework agreement.

The initiative aims to promote female leadership, defend rights, and empower women and adolescent girls. It specifically targets challenges such as gender-based violence, limited access to education, economic instability, and menstrual hygiene issues, particularly in vulnerable areas. The approach emphasizes active community participation to ensure women become agents of change within their families and societies.
