Cameroon selected as pilot market for Ligue 1 expansion in Africa

LFP Media and 6Sports Marketing Advertising have announced Cameroon as the pilot market for a new strategic initiative to expand the Ligue 1 McDonald’s brand across Francophone Africa. The project aims to deepen engagement with African supporters by creating localized experiences that align with the region's economic and cultural realities.

As part of the launch, a Watch Party is scheduled for October 25, 2026, centered around the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais. This event is intended to serve as a testing ground for new formats of fan interaction, combining football, entertainment, and commercial partnerships.

Led by 6Sports Marketing Advertising CEO N’Degué Barnabé Yannick, the initiative seeks to build a genuine Ligue 1 experience rather than just broadcasting matches. Following the experimental phase in Cameroon, the LFP and 6Sports plan to assess the results to determine how to scale similar activations across other French-speaking African markets.
