Cameroon Senate President's office denies assassination rumors

The office of Cameroon's Senate President, Aboubakary Abdoulaye, has issued a formal denial regarding social media rumors claiming an assassination attempt was made against him. In a statement released in Yaoundé on October 12, his cabinet described the reports as “totally false and fallacious.”

The communiqué clarified that the Senate President is continuing his regular activities and is currently in a parliamentary intersession. It further noted that he is also attending to his duties as the Lamido of Rey-Bouba in the North region. The cabinet has threatened legal action against those responsible for spreading these false reports.
